There can hardly be anyone who has not heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well, according to the majority of nutritionists, it actually is. Unfortunately, our hectic pace of life, the short time we have to get our children up and ready and morning traffic, have forced us to prepare quick and monotonous breakfasts.
It’s time to change! Cool your jets at least once a week – maybe on Saturday or Sunday- and enjoy a colorful and relaxed breakfast with your family or on your own. Here are a few tips:
Break with routine
Add fruit to your muffins or cereal. Strawberries and bananas go well with any sweet mix. Dare to spread avocado on your toast or make a sandwich with turkey, ham and mango. These colorful foods not only provide vitamins and flavor but also bring joy to each bite.
Dress your table for the breakfast
Never eat while you drive or take a snack while you dress. Before you sit at the table lay a tablecloth or use placemats with bright colors or textures and rustic lines that evoke warmer places. If time is not an issue, arrange wild or exotic flowers for a cheeky, refreshing touch.
Give your tea or coffee a twist
Use a decorated or handmade cup or mug, sweeten your drink with brown sugar using a pretty wooden spoon. These details reveal you’re indulging your palate and senses without haste.
Avoid street noise
If you’re lucky and have a balcony, terrace or patio, let the sound of the wind, the lapping of the sea or the singing of the birds, play the soundtrack to your breakfast. If you’re not that lucky, pamper your ears with soft notes from a Cadence Rhythmic song. At Nativo we suggest you explore Bossa Nova, Latin jazz or Fusion Classic Guitar.
